Udaipur, India
December 2006

Finally, a shorter photo set.  It seemed that I was on the way to visiting all of the palaces and forts of Rajasthan?  I started to think it might end up being like too many cathedrals or art museums in Europe.  Potential burnout?  With that in mind, I decided to skip a few and make Udaipur my last stop in the area.  The fastest way there was an overnight sleeper bus.  I've taken overnight buses before, but never one like this.  The sleeper is like a locker above the seats, big enough for one or two people.  Riding in the overhead storage compartment?

Udaipur and its palaces had quite a visual appeal, and I suppose I could have connected with the city a little better had I chosen to stay longer.  I have learned however, that I can't go everywhere, and I can't stay everywhere for extended periods of time.  Time is limited, though I like to feel that it isn't....
