Jaipur, India
December 2006

I have realized that perhaps I am taking way too many photos, or perhaps posting too many?  I am questioning my purpose in this.  I suppose I post so many to make this look more like a travelogue?  I plan on making a new site for the photos I actually consider to be good.  These are just snaps...

Highlights?  Well, for me there were many...  As always, I enjoyed walking the crowded streets.  I found a restaurant I really liked...  Was amazed by the accuracy of the stone sundials, the opulence of the city palace, and enjoyed a long walk in the hills between forts.  Then there was my first experience of Bollywood film.  Enjoyable, though I kept nervously eying my watch knowing my train was leaving later that night.  I guess I wasn't prepared for what easily could have been two films - one romantic comedy, an intermission and then emergency room suspense, ending in a happy romantic comedy again..  Appropriately, the film was about a wedding, as it seems many or most Indian films are, and it helped me identify what at first had been a mystery, my fisrt viewing of many of an Indian wedding procession.  Eventually they became routine...

More photos than expected, but everything about India proved quite interesting and colorful, particularly in these my first few weeks.

There is a little video of the wedding procession here.  As always it shows my lack of interest and lack of skill in video, but still was interesting as a first view of a wedding procession. Nothing much actually happens other than the standard disturbance of traffic, but...   Enough excuses?  Ok one more... I think the only reason I have this here is because I liked the music?  It starts with a cow...
